Students of the Jan Perner Transport Faculty of the University of Pardubice participated in a specialist internship at the Pardubice refinery.
Pardubice, 10. 5. 2012 - Ten final-year students of the Road construction department together with accompanying pedagogues learned about the production and use of construction and road asphalts and asphalt products in Paramo. "The internship program also included the topic of new chemical legislature (REACH, CLP) and requirements on the creation and contents of safety sheets in accordance with valid legislature as well as on work safety when working with asphalt," specified Daniel Švadlák, a research and development employee of Paramo and author of two presentations for students in Paramo.
The specialist internship of Master students took place in the Pardubice refinery as part of a larger project and with the active participation of the Czech Association of Petroleum Industry and Trade (CAPPO) as a partner of the Center for Transportation Research, v.v.i. in Brno.
Miloš Podrazil, the specialist sponsor of the project's partner, specifies: "CAPPO participated last year in the realization of the Operations programme of Education for competitiveness, which is part of the extensive programme of Development of Application Potential (RAPlus). The project is co-financed by the European social fund and the Czech national budget.
PARAMO, a.s., a member of the UNIPETROL/PKN ORLEN Group, processes crude oil for refinery and asphalt products, and also for lubricating and process oils, incl. subsequent and ancillary products. The refinery purchases and processes oil hydrogen and hydrocrack products. Intermediate products are used in the production of basic oils and lubricating oils which contain very low levels of sulphur. The company employs 600 people.
