A similar principle to various asphalt paints is also applied to asphalt sealants, which play an important role when renovating and maintaining asphalt hydro-insulation roof coverings. Nevertheless, asphalt sealants can only be used when the surrounding air temperature is above +5 °C. The protective effect of asphalt sealants lasts 7 to 9 years. It reduces the roof covering and roof sheathing temperature. Asphalt sealants can also be used for pasting shingles.
