Asphalt emulsions are produced not only from
classic road asphalts, but also from modified road asphalts. Today,
cation-active asphalt emulsions are used for repairing holes in the road and
road edges, as well as for joint sprays or recycling technologies. Cation-active
emulsions are positively charged and use acid solutions as their emulsifiers. Apart
from the environmental point of view, the use of these emulsions is also very
economical.
The cold road recycling technology is used rather
seldom in our country. Nevertheless, this technology is very convenient for
repairing roads exposed to relatively light traffic. When building or repairing
forest and access roads, the use of special asphalt emulsion sprays can be
recommended since they can quite sufficiently reinforce low-traffic roads.
