Pardubice, 30 January 2012 –The newly created company has already managed to conclude two five-year contracts for deliveries of asphalts with the companies Paramo and Unipetrol RPA, at planned total level of 12 billion crowns.

"We believe that the creation of the company Paramo Asfalt will increase effectiveness and flexibility in asphalt sales. The main priority of the new company will be to reinforce and develop good relations with existing customers," says Milan Kuncíř, CEO of Paramo, a.s.

The company Paramo Asfalt will ensure all business activity in the field of asphalt sales. It will thus trade in asphalts not only in the domestic refinery in Pardubice, but also from the refineries in Litvínov, Trzebinia and Plock. Every year Paramo manufactures and trades in approximately 250,000 tons of asphalts with a turnover of approximately CZK 2.2 billion, and it is thus the largest and reliable supplier on the asphalts market in the Czech Republic.

Out of the overall sold volume of asphalts, export makes up approximately 60 %, and goes primarily to Austria, Germany and Poland. Regardless of the difficult macroeconomic situation, the new subsidiary is planning to develop sales within new Europe and other export markets.

PARAMO, a.s., a member of the UNIPETROL/PKN ORLEN Group, processes crude oil for refinery and asphalt products, and also for lubricating and process oils, incl. subsequent and ancillary products. The refinery purchases and processes oil hydrogen and hydrocrack products. Intermediate products are used in the production of basic oils and lubricating oils which contain very low levels of sulphur. The company employs 631 people.
