The project is co-financed from European Union funds (the European Regional Development Fund/Cohesion Fund) within the Environment Operation Programme

The refurbishment of the VR 16 tank will result in a change of the production procedure of the existing facility – i.e. a completely new quality standard of vacuum distillate storage (complying with BAT); in addition, fluctuation of the vacuum distillate level will be eliminated thanks to the size of the tank.

Within the 14th appeal the following activities are supported:

  1. Limitation of industrial pollution – i.e. refurbishment of technology to limit industrial pollution – BAT application.
  2. Reduction of environmental risks – i.e. refurbishment of existing equipment with the aim to reduce the risk rate and to limit consequences of major accidents.

The refurbishment of the VR 16 tank corresponds to projects supported within both the activities, and therefore Paramo has decided to apply for the grant.

Expert opinions of independent specialists prepared from the point of view of the act on prevention of severe accidents and the act on integrated prevention recommended implementation of the refurbishment of the tank with financial support from CF/ERDF. The opinion of the Ministry of the Environment, which assessed the application from the environmental, economical and technological point of view, was also positive.

The decision on acceptance of the application for support of the above mentioned project from the Environment Operation Programme was adopted on February 24, 2010. Work on the implementation of the investment project, i.e. refurbishment of the VR 16 tank, respecting all the requirements for drawing of funds from the Environment Operation Programme, will be started on the basis of a decision of PAS.
